At the end of 2021, the passenger flow of the Kaliningrad (Khrabrovo) Airport was the record-breaking 3.91 million people

At the end of 2021, the passenger flow of the Kaliningrad (Khrabrovo) International Airport reached 3,910,846 people for the first time in its history. During the year, the passenger traffic grew by 65% over pre-pandemic 2019, and 84.7% over 2020. A total of 14,540 flights were operated in 2021, a 30.9 percent increase over 2019 and a 54.2 percent increase over 2020.

The growth of passenger traffic on domestic airlines was 80.2% as compared to 2019 and 84.3% as compared to 2020. Since 2021, new domestic routes to Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Ufa, Samara, Perm, Bryansk and Kursk are available from Khrabrovo Airport. The number of flights on major routes to Moscow and St. Petersburg has increased. Flights to Cherepovets, Yekaterinburg, Murmansk, Sochi, Arkhangelsk, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Kaluga, Pskov, and Mineralnye Vody continued. A total of 3,818,070 passengers were transported by domestic flights in 2021.

In 2021, international air travel, interrupted by the pandemic, was recovering. Flights to Minsk, as well as charter flights to Turkey (Antalya) launched again. New destinations to Kazakhstan (Almaty and Nur-Sultan) have been introduced. After several years, flights to Egypt were resumed, as well as flights to Berlin, Germany. In 2021, international airlines failed to achieve pre-pandemic levels, the decrease in passenger traffic compared to 2019 remains significant at 63%. However, as compared to 2020, passenger traffic on international flights has doubled, with a total of 92,776 people flying in and out during the year.

Total freight and mail handled in 2021 was 8,523,944 tons, an increase of 4.4 percent over 2019 and 9.1 percent over 2020.

The Kaliningrad (Khrabrovo) International Airport named after Empress Elizabeth of Russia is located 20 km north-east of the downtown of Kaliningrad. It has the status of a federal airport. The route network includes more than 25 regular flight destinations. Passenger traffic of the airport in 2021 amounted to more than 3.91 million passengers.
